Panasonic cites exciting times ahead for the Pro-cooking Division

Panasonic’s Justin Burnell, Head of New Business Development, has eluded to some exciting news to come in the New Year for the Company’s commercial catering equipment division.

Burnell said; “While we want to wish the very best of luck to Iain Phillips who is leaving us after a 20 year tenure with Panasonic, it comes at a time when we will be announcing some new developments of our own in the early part of 2020 for the pro-cooking division. In addition, we are enhancing our team with new members; this additional resource will ensure that we continue to offer support across our wholesale and distributor network and maintain the direct customer relations that we have forged over the years.”

One of those direct customers, Caffe Nero, validated Panasonic’s position as the leading commercial microwave manufacturer in the UK in 2019 when it scooped the opportunity to supply all of Caffe Nero’s outlets with the award-winning SCV-2 Speed Convection Oven. The win was deemed a success due to the level of support given to Nero as part of their menu development process and throughout the installation and ongoing roll-out nationwide. Burnell adds; “This is a great example of how we will be moving forwards, working closely with end users’ food development teams and offering our expertise to develop kit to suit their exact needs.”

Panasonic has launched a range of award-winning items for the professional kitchen in recent years and been first to market with a number of ground-breaking products. It’s direction took a broader path this year with the introduction of its commercial rice cooker, the first non-oven item.
