Country Choice has expanded its hot food-to-go offer for convenience retailers with the launch of two new savoury bakes – a Chicken Bake and Sticky Pork Rib Bake – and two new high protein omelettes – Plain and Cheese.

The Chicken Bake - made with succulent diced chicken in a smooth, creamy sauce, encased in golden puff pastry - introduces a long awaited core flavour to the range, filling a clear gap for a classic, mainstream option that will sit alongside the existing Steak Bake on any retailer’s planogram. For consumers seeking something richer and more indulgent, the Sticky Pork Rib Bake hits the spot with its tender pork rib pieces coated in a sticky, sweet barbecue sauce, and wrapped in golden, flaky puff pastry. The Sticky Pork Rib Bake replaces the existing Pulled Pork Bake, and steps in as a fresh, indulgent option that keeps the range moving forward by building on the popularity of slow-cooked pork flavours while introducing a richer, more premium profile that will encourage consumers to trade up.

Ready to bake, suitable for all-year-round consumption and ideal for convenience stores, forecourts, and hot food-to-go operators looking to strengthen their grab and go offer, the 170g bakes are supplied in cases of 36 and have a four-hour hot-hold shelf life once baked. Both bakes carry an RRP of £2.80.

Made with free range eggs and developed to meet the demand for high protein, low carb options the Plain Omelette and Cheese Omelette are fluffy, folded half moon portions. They are ideal for convenience retailers looking to expand their hot food options with a simple, versatile product that has all-day appeal and will deliver strong margins.

Positioned as an alternative for consumers who are looking to cut their carb intake or reduce their meat consumption, the new omelettes offer up to 12g of protein and up to 200 calories per serving, giving retailers an on-trend way of strengthening their breakfast and all day hot food offer.

The Plain Omelette features a free range egg recipe with a light, fluffy texture, while the Cheese Omelette adds extra mature Cheddar for a richer flavour profile. The omelettes, which weigh 100g and are supplied in cases of 24, are supplied frozen, oven ready and easy to hot hold for up to two hours. Country Choice recommends displaying the products in either its Square Savoury Tray or Square Savoury Bag for maximum visibility and ease of service.

RRPs for the omelettes are in the range of £2.00 to £2.30 for the Plain Omelette and £2.30 to £2.50 for the Cheese Omelette.
