Ode strengthens its Norwegian Cod Farming portfolio to support its growth

Frode Norman Vatne (above) has joined Ode as our new Chief Technology Officer. Frode comes from Pelagia, where he led their digital transformation. His mandate at Ode is to make us the most advanced cod farming company in Norway through smarter use of data, automation and more connected operations across the value chain.

Ode takes over Mowi facility in Vanylven

Ode agreed with Mowi to take over their land-based facility in Vanylven on Norway’s west coast. Mowi will continue running the site through the summer with its current cleaner-fish stock, after which Ode will take over both the site and its staff and convert production to juvenile and broodstock cod. The site has a strong track record of producing juvenile cod, and Ode will apply for a change of species together so they can resume cod operations without interruption. It’s an important addition to Ode’s land-based capacity.
